An Expansive Pallet of Sounds Featuring Digital Drawbars and New Accordion Register

The KN5000 has 290 vibrant sound presets and 15 drum kits, generated by Technics' proven Dynamic PCM sound generator.

It virtually reproduces the tonal qualities of each musical instrument.

The new Acoustic Illusion Effect can make you feel like you're right in the middle of the orchestra pit.

Choose a suitable type for each instrument, out of 4 Illusion types (Standard, Percussive, Symphonic and Deep Space).

For extra sound selection, you get not only the Digital Drawbars; Technics has now added ten registers to both the German and Italian accordion sounds to faithfully reproduce classic accordion sounds. And to create your own unique sounds, KN5000 offers you various parameters for editing the sounds, such as Pitch Envelope, Filter Envelope, and more.

Yes but that sound is on your computer right? Not the KN5000.

Page 179 of your KN5000 Manual, make sure the computer switch is set to MIDI.

Page 177 of your manual, initialise the keyboard.

If it is still not working, turn keyboard on and off.

Re: KN5000 Screen Display Getting Very Dark & Hard to Read

I purchased a KN5000 last year.
The LCD was defective (very dark)
I designed a adapter to connect the keyboard to a new type display.
The new one is 5.7" versus the old one that was 6"
The display looks and works great.

On most Technics Keyboards you place the files on a floppy and then you press and hold the Disk button. You'll then get a menu to choose which Style to load. Holds true for all the Technics keyboards I know of.

Hi NativeAngels,

Here is the procedure to load a single composer from the manual. It is virtually identical for all the later KN keyboards just that the screens are laid out differently.

Forgot about that one, just wondered if there was a function or switch to do it. Headphone socket will work.

Re: Muting Kn5000 speakers

Hi Nativeangels,

I had a quick look in the manual but I can't see a way to do it.

Try plugging a headphones adapter in the headphones socket. The Line Out will probably still be active. If so, that's a really convenient way to mute the KN5000s speak…

Re: Tutorial For Updating A Kn5000 Operating System

Hi Nativeangels,

NB: ATTEMPTING TO UPDATE THE ROM OF YOUR KEYBOARD CAN RENDER IT INOPERABLE SO PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK I CAN'T HELP YOU IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR KEYBOARD

I've attached a zip file that includes the update and an 'easy to run' batch file.

Re: KN5000 SOUND NAME ERROR MESSAGES

Good luck with it Chris, I saw the post on Synthzone and very glad Gunnar helped you out, that's the kid of guy he is!

Mike is certainly a top guy with repairs so I'm sure it will get sorted, let us know how it goes.

Best wishes,
Mike

I will advise the outcome in due course for an…

Great. If you hold the Music Style Arranger button down you'll get additional options.

Re: Re Style Tempo

Hi,

If you're referring to the Styles built in to your keyboard then you can use the Music Style Arranger to do that.

If you're referring to the Y1 Series Styles downloaded from here, you can't load them with a suggested tempo. This is because I've …
