Digital Revolution : The SD Memory Card

The word "Digital" has been part of daily life for many years, yet only recently has the real Digital age truly dawned. Incredible strides in Digital technology have led to the need for a new storage medium to save all kinds of digital data safely and bridge the gap between different Digital products. The SD Memory Card is the perfect solution for this need, as well as having great benefits for the keyboard player.

SD Memory Card

Until now, getting bigger storage capacity than a floppy disk has meant installing a Hard Drive. Not any more! In the KN7000, the incredible SD Memory Card neatly and conveniently serves these functions, and it's only about the size of a postage stamp.

The SD Memory Card is non-volatile, meaning it doesn't need power to keep its memory. Unlike a Hard Drive there are no moving parts to skip or break down. And the combination of huge storage capacity with super fast access time makes the SD Memory Card the perfect solution for the KN keyboard.

Enter The New World

Nowadays, Digital data such as music files can be distributed easily via the Internet, especially as download speeds increase. This convenient method of buying music is made possible by the SD Card's high level copyright protection, giving record companies the confidence to sell music online. With SD the KN7000 will become the centre of your home music network!

Small Size: Large Capacity

The SD Memory Card's slim, compact design makes it easy to handle! It measures a mere 24mm (0.94inch) x 32mm (1.26inch) with thickness of 2.1mm (0.08inch).

But how much can such a physically small card store? The 64MB SD Memory Card can hold one hour of Digital Audio! But capacities already far exceed this with various cards available up to 512MB and in the near future 1GB.

Paddyredgolf I have just bought a technics KN 7000' it has no expression pedal with it. Can I use the pedal from my Yamaha TYROS 5. There is no obvious place on the back panel on the Technics ! Any chance of successful midi connection between the TYROS and the 7000.
Very impressed with 7000 particularly thro my Sennheiser phones, really enhances the output quality.
I have just installed the new TRX speakers on TYROS, any link between those and the 7000 would be sensational. Help ! I am nearly 80 and the brain has slowed down a bit !

jd5live Hi ,welcome to the site, T he expression pedal you need is the Technics SZ-E2. DO NOT use the Yamaha pedal. The Technics pedal is a control device working on all sound or part expression depending on setting so is not like the older Expression/Swell pedals which worked on the output volume.
These pedals are often on Ebay for between £10.00 to 40.00 Depends on the price on the day.
Best regards John. (aka. Mr Ferret )

ThanhLoan7515 Hi John,
Can I use the Behringer FCV 100 as expression pedal for my KN7000; if yes, please advise how to connect it to the KN7000.

Thanks

jd5live Hi Thanh, I have checked out the spec of the unit, This can be used as an inline expression pedal ie:- Take the line out of the KN ( left and right ) to the in of the pedal, te outs of the pedal these cables would then be connected to a stereo amp then speakers or direct to powered speaker units. the drawback of such pedals is that firstly they have to used with external speakers and do not control other than the overall volume of the keyboard. The Technics SY-E2 has the ability to control many different parts so offers many more functions than just overall volume. and also the functions control internal speakers and the Line out sockets on the rear of the instruments. To be fair the Technics SY-E2 is really the one you need to use as you can set it to control just a part while the overall volume stays constant.
Do you have the Owners manual for your KN7000 ? You can download it from the site.
Regards John.
