About the SONGS 4 U Collection for Technics Keyboards

This broad-ranging series of Technics keyboard Songs was recorded by Willum (Bill Norrie), who has been extremely generous in making them available for our Members here!

Volumes 1 and 2 are recorded on KN6000, so they are compatible with KN7000, KN2600, KN2400, PR804, PR604, PR54, PR903, PR703 and PR603.

I hope to convert the Songs for other Technics instruments in due course.

What Can I Do With These Songs?

  • Listen to (some of) them on the website
  • Load them on your keyboard and listen to them
  • Examine the Sequences on your keyboard
  • Mute some parts and play along with them
  • Re-record lead parts over the top of Willum's backings to perform a duet with him!

Notes from Willum

The ‘Songs 4 U’ files were all recorded using the ‘On-Board’ sequencers, in the KN6000 and KN7000. Some were done with just the ‘Easy Record’ feature but a few had some tracks added , after the basic recording.

Most of the songs could be classified as ‘Easy Listening’ and a list of the Song names, referenced to the Technics 8 character file names, is included in the ZIP file. This list is in pure text form and can be opened with any word processor.

All the files are in ZIP format and should be unzipped to a floppy disc. The ‘SongList’ file can be printed out, for reference, if required.

OldYouWho Thank you for keeping the Technics instruments alive. I have noticed that you don't list the PR54 piano that I have. I hope you can add it in the future.

jd5live Hi, Heather, you note that Mike has not listed the PR54, in fact, we have not forgotten our ensemble players, however, as you are aware as with all sites there is always some wrinkles that have to be sorted. The good news is that the PR54 can use many of the styles that have been created for the KN6000 and KN7000 as it is an NX unit. So I recommend that you try the styles listed under those keyboards. You may have seen my posts on other forums and although I am originally an organ/keyboard player then a Technics main dealer I have had a lot of fun with the Digital Ensembles.
Hope you find some useful things that are to your liking here.
Best regards John Dawson
