Amazing Gospel Choir Downloads
The downloads below have two Panel Memories and include the registrations described in the article. KN7000 and KN6000 have been tested, earlier keyboards are untested. Please let us know how you get on by using the comments box at the end of the page.
Later keyboards should automatically engage their internal "Gospel 3/4" Style, however, the converted KN7000 Style will also be in Rhythm Composer A. Earlier keyboards and organs will access the Converted KN7000 Style in the Composer.

The Amazing Gospel Choir!
Start from the factory 'initial' setting (press: Program Menus > Control > Initial > OK & Yes) and set APC mode to 'Advanced 1'
Backing
Step 1
From the rhythm group, press Gospel & Blues then select the Gospel 3/4 pattern on page 2. (Found in Soul & R&B group on KN7000.)
Step 2
Press & hold One Touch Play for 3 seconds.
Step 3
Now change the tempo to 70, check that Right 1 balance is 120, and set Right 2 balance to 90 and Left balance to 66.
Now press 'Other Parts' button and set the Part 1 balance to 115.
Press the 'Other Parts' button again to return to the home page.
Melody - part 1
(check that 'Right 1' is on)
Step 4
For the Right 1 sound press the Vocal group button and select Girls Doo in page 2. (Page 3 on KN7000.) Press Exit.
Step 5
For the Right 2 sound, press the Right 2 part select button in the conductor then press the Vocal group button and select Mixed Doo. (Found in Sound Explorer on KN7000.) Press Exit.
Step 6
For the Left sound, press Left part select button in the conductor then press the Sound Explorer button and select Humming from the Vocal category. Press Exit.
Step 7
Now press Right 1 & Right 2 together so that all the conductor parts are on.
Press the R1/R2 'minus' octave button to drop the melody parts by an octave.
Step 8
Now we're going to set Part1 so that we use this for Technichord.
Press Program Menus and select the Sound menu from the screen.
Press Part Setting and select Part 1 (use the button in the top left corner of the screen - 'up' x 4)
Now press the Vocal sound group button and select Mixed Doo. (Found in Sound Explorer on KN7000.)
Press Program Menus button to turn it off.
Step 9
To set the Technichord press and hold down the Technichord button until the screen changes (use 'Display Hold' to keep it there).
Select 'Theatre' with the buttons under the main box and set 'Orchestrator' to 'Part 1'.
Press exit and store this first setup in a Panel Memory (press and PM button whilst holding down the 'set' button).
Melody - part 2
Step 10
For the backing, select rhythm variation 4.
Now mute the Acc.2 part, set the Left balance to 55 and the Right 2 balance to 85.
Change the balance of the Part 1 sound to 120 using the 'Other Parts'.
Step 11
For the Right 1 sound, press the Right 1 part select button in the conductor and then press the Vocal sound group button.
From the screen, select Jazz Singers II. (Found in Sound Explorer on KN7000.) Press Exit.
Step 12
For the Right 2 sound, press the Right 2 part select button in the conductor then press the Sound Explorer button and select DaDa Octaves from the Vocal category. Press Exit.
Step 13
For the Left sound, press Left part select button in the conductor then press the Organ & Accordion sound group button and select Full Drawbars DE. (Found in Sound Explorer on KN7000.) Press Exit.
Step 14
Reset 'R1/R2 Octave' back to normal (press the + and - buttons together).
Now we need the Right 1 and Left parts to sound an octave higher so press Program Menus and select the Sound menu from the screen.
Press Part Setting and select the Right 1 part using the buttons at the top left as before.
Now use the 'Key Shift' buttons at the bottom of the screen to adjust the Key Shift to + 12.
Step 15
While you're still on this page, do the same thing for the Left part.
Now press Exit 3 times to return to the home page.
Step 16
Press and hold the Technichord button and change the type to 'Hymn'.
Press Exit and store this second setup in a different Panel Memory button.
Now play Amazing Grace and you'll be amazed at your choir!
TIP: To add even more backing, set the Piano Performance Pads to the Swing Waltz bank and press Pad 4 whilst you're playing to get an extra gospel piano and organ in the backing band … and press Stop when you've had enough!
